Bad, bad blog daddy indeed. When I started this page I thought it would be easy to write a few times a month and as it turned out it was easy in the beginning (when I didn’t have a job). Then in March of last year I accepted a 12 month contract at Microsoft working on Xbox marketing and all aspirations flew out the window. Work, time with family, and other hobbies left little time to write. When I did take time to write I usually ended up going down these long rabbit holes on a subject never reaching the end. I have several longer pieces in my drafts folder that are either incomplete and/or no longer timely. I became increasingly frustrated about my blog neglect and in the process gained a great deal of respect for people who have full time jobs and still manage to blog at least once a week (Wil Wheaton and Major Nelson immediately come to mind). When it comes to professional writers who can bust out thousands of words a day, well they are pretty amazing people. Matt Forbeck, Ari Marmell, Robert J. Schwalb, James Wyatt, and Bruce Cordell to name a few.
That being said I did work on some pretty cool stuff over the past twelve months. The largest campaign I worked on was for the launch of Halo: Reach. Partnering with Pepsi Co, we co-branded bottles of Mountain Dew & bags of Doritos with Halo: Reach and the heroic characters from the game (known as Noble Team). It was a fun campaign and I got to work with some amazing people at 343 Industries, Bungie, Weta Workshop, and Pepsi Co. Below are a few images from the campaign.
